J. Chesley Culpepper of Gainesville died Saturday at his home. He was 75. Mr. Culpepper was a retired naval engineer. He was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Vida D. Culpepper of Gainesville; a daughter, Julia Elaine Culpepper of Gainesville; a son, J. Chesley Culpepper Jr. of Sylva, N.C; a brother, Oscar F. Fowler of Archer; a sister, Ruby Groce of Gainesville; and one grandson.3
