(Marie Culpepper) Goree on pages 22 and 23 of an addendum to The Life History of the Culpepper Family From 1633 to May 1949 (information up to Elijah Clark Culpepper has been proven incorrect), wrote about her father, William Augustus Culpepper: Tall, about 6 ft. Fair Complected. Blue Eyes and Light Hair (blonde). Weight about 250 lbs. His characteristics were a good nature, jolly and most of all a Christian gentleman. He was a very fine farmer and highly esteemed by all who knew him.
