Mattie Lee Culpepper, 91, of 2010 Warm Springs Road, Columbus, died Tuesday at Pine Manor Nursing Home. The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday at McMullen Mortuary, with burial in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Culpepper was born 1 Sep 1904, in Augusta, Ga., daughter of Ben Franklin and Rosie Ella Ford Cates. A resident of Columbus for most of her life, she retired as a spinner from Eagle and Phenix Mills, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the widow of Charlie W. Culpepper. Survivors include five sons, Donnie Wilson Culpepper, Charlie Wendell Culpepper and Carl Lavon Culpepper, all of Columbus, Daniel Lee Culpepper of Panama City, Fla., and Thomas Joseph Culpepper of Houston; 13 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.2 |
